View Full Version : Anybody using FP Evolites in their lepton?

I'm looking for a batt upgrade (going from 4s to 5s).
I've been using FP Evo20 3700Mah with 4 cells to great success.
I would like to extend my flighttimes (with my flyingstyle at 2500 rpms about 8:30mins).

With my flightstyle my datalogger tells me that the average current drawn from the batt is about 20 amps with peeks to 30 amps.

With 18C and 4250 capacity and to my knowledge a, although tight, fit I would like to know if any of you have been using the evolites?

will you be able to deal with the extra 100 grams or so of weight CoG wise?

Good point.

Others are flying their lepton's in a 5S config already.

So anybody using a 5S config in their lepton, how did you solve the CG issues?

I think I saw that Bob (Finless) was using a 5S 3300 pack from flight power, weighs 442 grams. Same weight and size as the Thunder Power 5S 3300 extreme.

Should not be a problem

I fly 4S and I have to put the battery pack in but not all the way to the rear of the battery compartment to keep weight forward

With 5S maybe you will push it all the way backwards

I ran 5s 3700's and 5s 3300 flightpower evo packs in my lepton. The 5s 3700's required the esc to be moved to the rear of the heli to balance on mine. The 3300's were a better match with the lepton IMO. They had just as much power, the rolls were cleaner and it just felt better in the air.
