This is a pre-review based on what I learned by reading this page (http://www.centuryheli.com/products/helikits/cn1000cHawkPro/index.htm?currentid=302) and what I know about Hawks:
The Hawk Pro is a Hawk Sport with some upgrades like:
Falcon side frames
Torque tube drive
Rear mount tail servo
Ball Bearing upgrade kit.
Speculations:
I see no mention of the thrust bearings in the blade grips, or the use of the 6mm feathering spindle. Either or both would be good to see on the Pro.
One of the teaser pictures shows the tail rotor assembly. This looks exactly like the Hawk Sport. I don't see why they included this picture. I would have liked to see the Raven/Rredator style tail rotor, but that does not look like it is included.
I don't get why the Falcon side frames are considered an upgrade. Anybody have insight on this?
I have never used the bearing upgrade in my Hawk Sport. My Hawk has seen 6 gallons and seems to fly fine without the bearings.
I have flown both with and without the torque-tube. I have to say that the tube is a serious upgrade that is immediately noticeable in a FFF piro.
The rear mount tail servo is a good idea. I use it. Setup is easier and slop is less.
Other upgrades that Century recommends:
Constant drive tail: This should be standard on the Pro. Heck, the HB Pro has it.
Metal Swash: unlikely to make much difference.
Metal Fan: very unlikely to make any difference at all.
Anti-rotation bracket: I want to try this, but I don't expect to notice much of a difference.
Upgrades that I like:
Torque Tube
Rear mount tail Servo
Carbons, front and back (I have heard good things about the FK fiberglass main blades too)
OS 37 (I haven't tried one yet, but I have outgrown my OS32)
"Two short balls" on the BH mixer.
Raven/Predator style tail rotor.
Constant drive gear
