I don't use a governor and do not want to turn at 2200 rpm but around 1900...what are your curves guys?

Curves will work but very time comsuming. Mine is curved by GV1. I am thinking you will want the high point around 90 to 93%. But that is just a guess for me as I am a GV1 fan.

I second the Gv1, but have also setup a few helis on a throttle curve. The key is to have someone tach the headspeed for you in a hover, adjust it to whatever you like, then set your actual throttle curve up to keep the rpm as consistant as you can while doing both inverted and right side up full collective climbs, and then you have to program a bit (usually around 35%) of aileron and elevator to throttle mixing in. that will help keep the headspeed where you want it when you load the engine with the combination of collective and cyclic inputs. If done meticulously, even a trained ear will have a hard time telling the heli is not running a governor. Your end points in idle up 1 and 2 will have to be 100% wide open throttle top and bottom or else you will never have full power at your disposal.

if your throwing it around curves will never keep up with the heli there will always be times when you have too much or not enough throttle in your curves and mixes.

imo the CSM rev lock and the curtis ATG are the best govs on the market at the moment. a lot cheaper than the GV1 and much more accurate at holding RPM this improves cyclic, collective and tail response by a large margin.

stick a gov on it and all you will have to worry about is if you are using too much cyclic and collective at the same time. the rest of the time it will just hold the rpm at the set point you set.

Thanks for the comebacks...

Does a motor with a gov work more or harder than using throttle curves?

No The gov just takes all the work out of the setup.
