Not the kind caused by Olestra or Collards :)

I just got around to replacing the clunk line in my R90 tank. I had to pull the grommet like seal from the tank to get the clunk out. It had some kind of sealer on it where it seated in the tank bunghole. I cleaned it up and replaced the line and reinstalled everything. Now I get a small air leak at the grommet and tank when I pressurize by blowing in a fuel line while its under water to check for leaks. What kind of sealer, goo, or whatever can be used where the grommet goes into the tank?
The Thunder tiger book dont show a replacement for the grommet, only a complete tank assembly. Would a hardware store grommet hold up to 30% nitro?

Thanks

Dwight

Try Rick's I think they night have something that would work. Also before you put it in did you put a little fuel on it. It helps it to seal.

Or maybe someone will see this that lost a fuel tank recently and you could have there old on. If your still looking I'm in line for a new tank here in a week or so I could send you the one I have.

Well, I pulled it and rechecked for cracks or splits at the tank seam, rechecked the grommet seal for any leftover sealer, and stuck it back together (with a little spit :^) Tested it again, still making small bubbles, so figured Id rotate the grommet in small increments in case it had formed a memory. That helped some, and bubbles were much less, but still no cigar. Left it sit overnight, and blew thru the inlet again today till I thought I'd pop an eardrum. Still was submerged, and NO leaks. Yay!!
Guess it just needed a little time to reconform to the opening

Thanks for your help,
Dwight

Glade to hear. Now go burn some fuel.
