Hi there just brought a Gaui 550 combo kit with the 75amp ESC & 1150kv motor I have some futaba 3151 servos lying about that came with my radio and was wondering if these would be ok in the 550. I'm looking for a setup that will be ok for learning basic forward flight. I also have a gy240 and would like some suggestions for a budget tail servo that will handle the basics. Thanks Jactor

If your servos don't have slack and are running smooth, why not? I'm using them from the start and they are a bit prone to cracking gears if you crash. Plastic gears, nothing out of the usual.

Not sure if it will fit in an H550 but the HS81 (0.11s, 2.6kg, 29.8 x 11.2 x 29.6mm, 17g) makes a reasonable budget tail servo, as do the HDS477 (31x16x30.5, 29g) or HDS577 (28x13.5x28mm, 18g) digital servos (both 0.12s, 3.0kg).

I have Futaba 3151s in my two Hurricanes, have have never let me out, working just great. I have changed gears number of time after crash.

Im using the 3151s on my Hurricane and they work fine for my skill level. Ive had a few minor low alt incidents with my flying and they servos have held up fine.

Thanks for the info guys. Hope the kit gets here before next weekend (no local agent in New Zealand - so coming from Hong Kong) so I can get building. I have a Trex 450 that I am learning on at the moment (wind permitting) and a 600 frame that is slowly being built - still needs gyro, tail servo, main blades. Saw a friends gaui he had imported and couldnt believe how cheap the spares are for these things - so the 600 is on hold while I get the some budget flying in on the gaui.
