Gotta buy another $300 lipo, so I sold off a kidney and after I donate a few more pints of blood I'll be able to hit that "buy now" button.
Looking around the forum it seems the popular choice is the FP4900 but I'm wondering why when the FP5000 costs the same. Are you guys really trading off extra capacity for a few grams of weight, or am I missing something?

I found that the 4900 has greater power density than the 5000 - its 724 vs 799 grams (9% lighter), but only 2% less energy (4900/5000 = .98), for some reason its a more efficient battery. For a 5 minute flight time (300 seconds), the 4900 will have only a 6 second reduction in time (300*0.98=294 seconds), but is 75 grams lighter, so 799 grams for 5000 mah (6.26 mah per gram) vs. 724 grams for 4900 mah (6.77 mah per gram) - 6.26/6.77 = 7.5% greater power density for the 4900.
