Which is better for a Beginner to Intermidate fly?
neither really. There are some differences in the setup, but if they are set up well, it is difficult to tell much of a difference.
I personally thing CCPM gives a better pop when you pump collective, but that is just my opinion. I also think mechanical mixing is easier to set up with no interactions.
I really don't think the mixing type should influence your decision either way. Get what you want, set it up well, and fly it.

Due to the question I would assume that you are not experienced at setting up CCPM
So go with the HPM - it's very easy to build and setup
When you can fly hard 3D you make like to upgrade to CCPM (SWM)

I have owned both versions at the same time. The SWM it quite a bit more responsive on the cyclic and pitch that the HPM version. Ivan is right about the pop on the collective. I like to program a little +expe and it makes it really pop!
Both would work for the beginner or intermidiate. SWM is a little harder to set up but it pays off.
