Ok yall , after a few battery swells over the past year, I have came to a conclusion that might be causeing battery failure,
Since I live in Alaska and deal with cold 10 1/2 months out of the year , (thats temps 55 degrees and lower) I have about 6 months to fly outside.
so I have had a fair share of swells and as everyone knows , it takes a while to send the packs out for repair or replace, and it can cause MADNESS, grief, and despare,
Im thinking that around 55 to 60 degrees tops and down that a embalance acures due to the outer cells getting cooled while discharging , while the inner cells are gaining in temps , as everyone knows , at 130 degrees the batteries come to life and discharge the best , well if its about 55 degrees outside temps , the outer cells never reach there discharge temps while the inner cells do , I have had 2 packs swell for no reason and a friend of mine at work had a battery go south , all the times the temps were below 60 degrees ,
so I would like to gather some info on other battery failures , how cold was it when you flew ?
I will incase my batteries this spring either with some sort of box , or maybe so sort of insulation to keep them warm ,
thanks ,
Tony
