Hello,
I have T-Rex 450SE V2 and I'm looking for a good radio with 9 channels, because I want to keep my radio for a long time and be able to use it with bigger helicopter. I plan to do AP photos eventually with bigger helicopter and I want to be sure that I will choose THE right radio right now.
I have in mind the JR X9303 2.4 Heli, but some people told me that the 2.4 technology have lot of glich issue compare the standard JR technology.
And I really prefer the small antenna...
This is the link of this product:

Do you know if this radio is a good one and stable / safe?
Thanks

I've already ordered one (on backorder). I went to the spektrum seminar at IRCHA and was really impressed with what they had to say. I've always bought Futaba stuff, but seems like they are really lagging on this one.
I want 9 channels because I hope to get into scale and like you don't want to have to upgrade again in the near future.
I'll be curious so read some of the replies you get!

Damn, that s**k. I went to my local store and they told me that is backorder this morning grrrr and they had many reports. Well, I don't think that I will stand still november to fly my new bird, and probably go with the standard version.

if you dont want to wait the dx7 is a perfect choice and it will do all of what you want of it for now and them some. unless you need 9ch but alot of people run the dx7 just fine.

I've been running the XPS module in my JR 9X11, same as your 9303, for a few months now , it's great .. definitely no " glitches " , had some more receivers arrive yesterday , so my fleet will all be on 2.4Ghz very soon......

That is very odd. The new 2.4GHz technology is far superior to the legacy FM technology it replaces and IMO you would be crazy to buy an old FM radio. The 2.4GHz R/C solutions provide orders of magnitude greater safety and reliability. They protect you from shootdowns and have much higher noise immunity making them almost immune to R/F glitches from onboard or external sources. Of course no RF link is 100% reliable, but these are demonstrably better than the old ones.
What is true is that you cannot mix a 2.4GHz R/C system with a 2.4GHz video downlink for AP, you need to use a 900MHz video downlink.
I am sure the X9303 would be an excellent choice for you but if you cannot wait then you have several good options:
1) Get a DX7 now. It is relatively cheap, will do all you need for a long time and by the time you really need 9ch the market will have evolved a lot and you will have a wider range of choices. Who knows, you might decide you need 12ch or 16, both of which are coming in time.
2) Get a 9303 TX-only and an XPS Tx-module and Rx. IMO XPS have the best module-based 2.4GHz solution currently available. Better technology, better features and lower prices.
Personally, I would get the DX7 and let the market evolve until my needs genuinely out grew the DX7 and then see what suits best at the time. I doubt you would have any problem selling the DX7 for a fair price should the need arise down the track.
