Noob Question

I have already placed an order (backorder) for the new X9303 because I want 9 channels (hopefully getting into scale and want the option of landing lights, landing gear, etc) instead of being limited by 7 (DX7) and having to upgrade later.

What is the main reason people use 9 channels? Can you use a "Y" adapter for things like the Gem 2000, voltwatch, etc.? Or do they need to be plugged directly into a channel on the receiver?

The big thing is that the 9 ch radios have more and better features, even if you don;t use all teh channels.
