I finaly flew my Knight yesterday... i had some problems with the tail. Little wagging and then not holding in HH. I did the initial set-up, as usual, in normal mode on my GY611 and the tail was fine. On my 4th flight, the tail started to drift...even in heading lock! The only thing i noticed was the belt a little loose but not very much. My 611 had 8 flights before i installed it on my K3D. I did not have more time to work on it so i left the field disapointed a bit. The firsts 3 flights were good but my HS was low and the engine way too rich since i am still in the break-in process. Don't know for the tail......Can't wait to fly it at 2000rpm and without any trouble in the back!

By the way, loooooooots of attention from the others at the field!!!! Many questions and comments (positives). Just sad in was not flying the way i anticipated. I know it will be soon.

Should get itself right after you lean it out. keep us up to date on how you make out.

I was going to say,if your still running it rich for break-in then dont worry too much about the tail right now.....once you start to lean the needles some then you can go through your setup again and she should be fine.

I just don't understand the behavior starting to change after 3 flights (wich were ok...) and suddenly, a drift. Anyway, i'll keep you informed.

what is your tail setup? how long is your servo horn, what are the limits in the gyro and how much tail pitch do you have on full left/centre/full right?

with the tail blades folded together you should have approx 90degs between the blades at full right about 1cm between the blades nose right at centre stick and keep limits left/right in the 611 equal, this will give left stick slightly less than 90 degs. im using one of the large disks with the pre drilled holes around the outside on the outer hole and 110% on the limits.

I just checked my bearings in the tail grips...there is one missing spacer between the outer bearing and the thrust bearing causing slop there. Don't know if it can cause the drift but the little wag i was experiencing on and off is certainly due to that. I now need to find 2 littles shims with the right dimensions...
