I pulled the trigger and ordered the BalancePro. Also got a cheap power supply unit ($25 with shipping included) from the internet. A 650W ATX computer power supply capacble of 34Amp at 12V. Been running the Cellpro with it and charging at 1.4C with no issues. Easy mod to get it to work.

I bought an FMA BalancePro last month and it lasted for 11 charges. Sent it back to FMA 2 weeks ago and I am on my second email(with no reply) to tech support on the status of the charger. Sure am glad I have my TP 1010C and 210V balancer ..................
I do like the charger(with the little time I have on it), it's just the support I am worried about.

It wouldn't recognize all of the cells(3s) and was putting strange values in the cell voltage fields(FMA software). Contacted support and was told to clean the contacts of my adapter. I cleaned contacts/pins and did a continuity check vith a VOM(passed). I still had the same problem. I was asked to return the charger and now you know the rest of the story....

Update, just heard from FMA support and it was a cold solder joint on the connector in the charger.

I just wired up 2 of the 3S A123 pack (built from the Dewalt 36V battery). I trimmed out the canopy so the new pack can fit. Going to test fly it in the morning. I have charged it with the old Cellpro 4S. I watched the cell voltage closely to make sure they don't go too much over 3.6V. Since the cellpro will charge the cells to 4.2V, I had to disconnect the pack when all the cells reach 3.6V. I can't balance them individually but it will do for now. The balancePro should be here on Monday.

Got the balancepro today. While charging the 3S A123 in th A123 mode, initially the current will go up to 7A but then it came down to 4A and I got a message stating b/c of the thin wires. The charging cable that I bought from FMA has 22g balancing wires and the 2 large black and red wires (I think that are at least 14g if not 12g). The wires/TP balancing connectors that I used to build the packs are 22g. So are the cables that FMA sells for their balancepro chargers are too thin and cause them not be able to function at their full "advertised" capacity?
