Well.. I revised my CVS hacked camera with a new improved mirrror. I took a video with it today. It runs without any extra battery. Just plugs into one of the spare channels on my Ar7000 receiver. Still got over 7 minutes of flight time out of 2 Flight Power 2170 Evo 25 packs. The two packs were running the heli motor, receiver and camera.

Here is a link to the video in both 640x480 and 320x240

How do you access the buttons that turn it on, start & stop recording?

If you zoom in on the last pic, you will see a micro switch I glued onto the RJ45 jack. This stops and starts the recording.

and you just put a servo connecter where the battery leads used to be and run it from rx output?

(Im asking so many questions because I want to do the exact same thing but rouite the video through an onboard telemetry package then tx to my groundstation. Im currently using that camera, unmodified, to do that but could save alot of weight if I pared it down as you have.

No, the battery leads are for 3 volts. I hooked the leads up to the 5v USB input at the top of the circuitboard. With it hooked there, you can supply 4.8 to 6.3 volts to run the camera.

I have looked all over for the link to convert the CVS camera to the TREX. I thought is was on the "On-Board" vieo threads by you and Finless Bob. I save those links but no "camerahacker" information is on them. Can you guys help me? The chear 2.4 Ghz wireless camera is not working out. Thanks 1hoptycopter
