hi guys i am a total newbie to helicopters but have done a bit of research and was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advice.

i have a futaba rd6000 sport radio i think it must be an earlier one as it only has a 3 point throttle and pitch curve.
so could anyone give me a good starter setup. i dont want much negative pitch to start. so will running in normal mode
this is for a trex 450xl. i will be training on a reflex xtr but for obvious reasons i would like to setup both sim heli and real heli the same.
i have watched all of bobs videos and the guy deserves a real pat on the back for taking the time to help us newbies in this way, they realy are very helpful.

i have a fairly good understanding of radio control as i have been racing off road nitro buggies for a few years now. just for fun nothing serious. but when it comes to fight i have practically no experiance,

many thaks in advance
chris

Well, for a normal pitch curve you would have something like 45-65-100 if you want to hover around midstick and a -2 degree limit on your negative.
Compatible throttle curve would be 0-80-100 or 0-60-80 if you want to take it easy.
Check out the Finless throttle and pitch curves vid, it's made for a 5 step curve but it will give you the idea:

Thanks for the info. i have seen the video's and they are realy great.
I havn't plucked up the nerve yet to actually fly the heli, but I have now done about 2 hrs on the sim. And boy compared to off road buggies this is realy hard to get the hang of. I am having trouble practicing with just elavator, aileron and pitch so when i also get to include rudder i think thats where the realy difficult parts gonna come in.

Well at least it free to crash a sim!!!!
