Hi

I've just bought myself a Swift having seen a couple flying at my local club.

I was expecting a kit, but actually received the ARTF version. I have had several issues with the tail rotor and boom. The tail rotor was very stiff to turn, I found that it I back off the brass bole on the pitch slider it was much improved. Also the servo mounts were on the boom the wrong way round and the grub screw in the tail hub has been rounded off.

Does this mean that I need to check everything else on the heli, or in general will it have been assembled OK?

Thanks

Steve

I would dis-assemble, and follow the Finless build video's to rebuild.

I would at a minimum go over all pre built parts of the heli. They are mass produced in the factory and do a good job but in a heli every nut and bolt seems to be functional and it only takes one to bring her down.

There is no substitute for a hand built hand fitted helicopter. You know you have put locking compound in every location it is squared up balanced and really a top shelf piece. Even if the qiuck build in the short run works out. I think in the long run the owner built heli will service you for some time to come.

Just think of the pre built as pulling all the parts out of a bag ! Pre builts are done just for that reason in some shops. The human resources to count and pull parts is not that much more than a worker with trays of parts loosly putting them together. The time it takes for a really good kit with each sub in it's own bag is exspensive and trust me we pay for it.....
