Hey guys, sorry to bother you all, I usually troll the Trex section.
A friend of mine just bought a Raptor 50se, and a DX7. He is trying to set it up, with my help, but I need a little advice. (Hes using the DX7 servos, btw)
Two questions.
Can someone give me a brief rundown on the recommended setup values for a DX7 and a Raptor 50 w/Thunder Tiger engine? I've got some values plugged in and it seems to run pretty well, but I'd like to hear from someone who has a working 50 on a DX7 to get their ideal values. I realize I will have to modify my own Travel Adjustments, and thats fine, but even a starting point would be helpful.
Also, when we lift it off, it's getting wobbly, badly. Beginning to think it's that the blades are too tight. Any advice will be welcome, I'm stumped.
Thanks,
BZ

here's what i've got.
Pitchs:
Normal-
1. -5.5* 35%
2.INH
3.5.5* - 73*
4. INH
5. 11* - 100%
Idle 1:
1. -7* 26.5%
2. INH -4*
3. 0* 52%
4. INH 6*
5.10* 90%
Idle 2:
1. -11* 0%
2. -7* INH
3. 0* 52%
4.7*
5.11* 100%
Hold:
1. -10* 10.5%
2.INH -6*
3. 1/2* - 52%
4.INH - 8*
5. 11* - 100%
Throttle:
Normal:
1.12%
2.42%
3.52%
4.62%
5.100%
Idle 1:
1.100%
2.62.5%
3.42.5%
4.60%
5.100%
Idle 2:
1.100%
2.65%
3.45%
4.60%
5.100%
The blades should have a slight drag to move them and shouldn't need alot of force to move them.

Awesome, thank you so much.
What kind of travel adj settings do you have?
I will work with what hes got, but I'm new to the 1 Servo Swashplate setup stuff.

i believe everythign is set at 100% except for the throttle which is at 80% both directions. reason being, this makes the throttle have a better mechanical advantage over the pitch so the throttle begins moving slightly sooner and gets to the next point slightly before the pitch so the headspeed doesn't bog much...
and i mostly adjust my ATVs for everything else to suit the flip, roll and piro rate i want while keeping them as close to 100% as possible

Ok.
I used the settings you listed, and I had to tweak them a little, his motor did not seem to be as powerful as yours must be, he needed a little more oopmh in the middle of the Throttle Curve, and a little less pitch.
But, I am having a problem with the Idle Up Curves.
I rechecked the linkages several times, they are within .05mm of the factory guide, but even with your recommended Curve values, I cannot get any negative pitch at all.
It goes from about 0 to +8 in Normal mode, which I can deal with since hes a new pilot, but in Idle 1 and Idle 2, I can't get any more than about -1 in full down stick.
I have checked all the servos, they have full travel, and are set at 100% travel. But I cannot get any negative pitch out of it.
Full negative stick produces right at about 0 pitch.
I went through all the settings again, but was unable to find anything that was wrong.
Funny story though - while setting up the heli, the Rx pack died since he neglected to tell me he only charged it for an hour, so I had a freaking .50 size UAV on the ground and I couldn't initiate throttle hold.
I ended up having to grab the tail boom and I got my finger whacked pretty badly by the tail rotor. We had to pinch the line to shut the motor off, and he bought a fail safe, rofl.
Anyways, thanks for the help, hope someone has an idea on what might be wrong.

Ok, I feel like an idiot.
I've been through most of that site, what am I looking for?
I don't see anything about pitch problems? Just pitch setup, but I've done that stuff.

Hey man... if the pitch curve in the radio is good, you may need to setup the swash and such to be 0 degrees center of travel.
