Not even 1 month old. Only use it max. 2 hrs. to charge my Tx and Rx batteries (all duralites) for a total of 5-6 times. The bottom case has melted like a chocolate. Why is this, there's no overheating on the packs or on the charger itself? I've followed all the safety precautions.....and this! Has this happened to anybody else out there?

Stop using it and Call Duralite! They will make good on it.

Yes, got a new one already, and the bad one on the way to be checked. Just wondering what would have caused that melting at the bottom of the charger.

I am sure Jack will let us all know. Did they take care of you in a favorable way?

Got a call from Duralite (Sorry I forgot the person's name). There was nothing wrong with the charger itself or any of the internal components. What has happened was that the bottom (which do get warm to the touch) happened to be in contact with a little bit of glow fuel that leaked from one of my heli's exhaust port and with that sort of chemical reaction heated the bottom of the charger to the point of melting. I really appreciate the quick response in replacing my charger, plus the fact that a follow-up call was made to let me know what had actually happened. I am really alert whenever charging duralite rx/tx packs. Watching closely and making sure it's not left unattended. It takes anywhere between 1.5 to hours to fully charge. Again good service duralites. Thanks a lot.

Glad to hear they took care of you in such a good fashion. They always do!!
Also glad to hear that Glow Fuel and the plastic case need not get in touch with each other. I need to be more careful.
Thank you for the followup info hyper!!
