There's a company locally that does photography for listing agents, and they're interested in adding an AP subcontractor. However, since the service will be offered through their company, they require liability insurance. Can anyone please recommend some choices?

THANKS!

You can't go wrong with AIG (and I'm not just saying that because I work there).

I have a $1 million GL policy through Hill and Usher. Andre Monet is my agent. Give him a call. www.hillusher.com

I also have an equipment coverage with them. If I fly my chopper into a lake and lose it all, it's covered.

Thanks for the quick replies, guys. That will get me going. I can at least tell the prospective customer I have something in the works.

I don't know how insurance companies work in the states, but in Canada if i was only taking pictures for one company I would get them to add a rider on their insurance policy to cover what I am doing. I would have the same coverage but it would be their premiums and liability. A rider is usually cheaper than a whole new policy and if you only need it for one company they would be paying for it anyway whether you charge enough to cover it or they pay it straight out. Something worth checking into.

I thought that Hill &Usher wasnt doing new policies or not renewing them until the FAA finished doing what ever they are going to do....

I talked to Andre just a couple weeks ago and they were still taking on new policies.

Yes, even on their website, H & U note that they will still accept new policies because of the ambiguous nature of the FAA policy.

Blimey! No-one I've found would cover me for that .... How did you explain it to them? I'm covered for damage during transport (ie. if I was involved in a car accident), but not if it crashed or I lost it in a lake, etc ...

Is the premium quite high?

Thanks :)
