Likewise a Phoenix 35, 2 yrs old now and never had a problem. If your rich then look at the kontronics range.

Snap ! Don't trust the esc to handle the power output to the receiver plus it reduces the esc temp significantly.

Phoenix CC45 never get warm. Works for me. Either 3 or 4 S. Even works great with 4S A123. Separate BEC in 4S from www.softerm.com.au

TT has added heat sink in newer version of stock ESC .

TT Felix mentioned the heat sink recently added on the stock ESC. I had to place a heat sink TO220 on my stock ESC otherwise I could cook eggs on it!

Now to arrive at the same level of the Phoenix (CC35 or CC45) they just need to:
- Add a PC USB interface. (And the windows PC related software)
- Being able to handle 4S voltage.
- Review their software to avoid sudden jump in speed for no apparent reason.
- Support various switching speed of the motor inductors.

In short just transform their excellent Ford T model in a Ferrari 356 GTS

I use the stock ESC (with no heatshrink) and add a Medusa BEC 6V. Now the temp is down and my s9650 more happy ;)
