I just robbed my poor Mini-Titan of its Logictech LTG-2100T gyro to go in my other higher performance heli. So I put the 401 in the Mini-Titan.
Where do you guys put this old skool fat gyro??
Are any of you putting it here cause it fits perfecto!!!

I have mine right side up between the frame rails.

How can you adjust the setting from there?

It's not hard.... use a very small hobby screw driver through the vents.

Man, after using the Logictech gyro, this 401 really seems so ancient. What sucks is that I bought it about 3 weeks ago also because I had sent in an older 401 for repair, and it came back with nothing wrong with it, and I sold it. Now I'm stuck with this 401 after spending $140 for it. Its barily 3 weeks old. If anybody wants to buy it, let me know and we can work out a good deal!!!!

I mounted my 401 exactly the same.
Used two glued plastic strips to create a flat baseplate and some sticky foam, just like your picture :).
When i need a new gyro (on my next heli) I'll take a good look at the 2100T, you got me interested.

I put mine on the bottom as lithiumstatic said. use a small screwdriver to adjust the travel if needed. I considered the way you have it but i dont think you can get the tail boom off if you need to repair or adjust something with out removing the gyro each time.

That's not the case.
I worked on my tail many times with the gyro on it.
You can just pull the tail, only the gyro wire is limiting it being removed completly.
You have to stick the gyro support plate to the boomblock with foam ofcourse.
otherwise the two clamping halves get glued together and the tailboom can never be removed or adjusted
I thought it would be hard to adjust the screws placing it upricht in the frame like you did....
But your method seems to work just as well and even easier I guess.

My 401 is in the usual position - together with the FS61 Robbe servo gives a solid tail.

That a dangerous place to put your gyro man. One swat from your paddles and your $150 gyro is toast. Try one of the other locations as mentioned to save your gyro from a future kill!!

Mine is installed as suggested . Gyro is well protected inside the main frame and still have access to adjust travel limit .
