Is there a post or video that explains the basics and tricks to component and wiring layout?

I've seen "fishnet" covering that goes over wires, but what I have found in hobby stores looks to small to fit servo connector through, so don't get how it is used.

I have also seen a spiral wrap used in pictures, but the only similar thing I can find is at Radio Shack, and is way to big of diameter to be useful.

Thanks!

the "fishnet stuff" will stretch over the connectors and when pulled tight will shrink back down. it also helps to protect the wires.

The wire braid expands when you compress it. The easiest way to get it on the wires is to use an X-Acto knife to release the pins from the connectors, pull 'em out and then slip the braid on. Finish off each end with a piece of heat shrink and then snap the pins back into the connectors.
