View Full Version : FAI Blade Weight
What weight are people typically running for FAI blades? I am considering the Rotortech 720 or the Radix 710s for a Stratus FAI.
Thanks

Most of the F3C pilots I know run at least 200 gram plus Main Blades. I know some of the pilots using RotorTech/CarbonTech 720's were actually adding weight and had them up in the 220 gram range.
As for the Radix 710's I am not sure of the weight of them. I don't think Curtis uses a 200 gram blade for F3C. The Radix 710 may be in the 180 to 190 range.
When I have flown F3C contests, I always used in the 195 to 200 gram range.
Really not a set deal, you just have use what ever weight works best for you and gives you good control. Same deal with airfoil shape and length.

The Radix 710 FAI have all come in around 205 grams, I have 4 sets.
The RotorTechs come in around 195-200 but many guys are weighting them up to 235 or even 240gr. Miniature Aircraft's grips will not tolerate much over 215 so I stay lighter.

I ordered a set of the Radix 710 today for my Stratus. I also heard that Rotortech is coming out the "Scott Gray" edition FAI blades.
