I need an extra battery and wanted to pick up a 4s for my Z10A 3000kv motor.

What size should I get? 2200mah-3300mah or bigger?

Thanks

1800.... gives about 7 - 8 minutes of sport flying. 2170 Flightpower 25C will prbably be the happy spot. Thats what I'm getting soon enough. Tired of the short flight times of the 1800.

Would like a 3300mah be too much???

:lol::lol::lol: yes.

You could go with a evolite 2500 4S I think it will fit.

Height of battery below 30mm should fit to the heli without any problem .

That sounds about right to me!! What pack is that?

The 4S pack in the picture is 25C 2200mAh . The temp. of pack is only slightly warm after 5min. of hard 3D flight . It virtually no chnace to swell up .

Dude, the Mini-Titan on 4s is SICK!!!

I just saw one fly today on 4s and was blown away by the power.

I'll be posting a video of it shortly!!!

I think 3s on the mini-titan doesn't do it justice. It was made for a 4s setup with all the metal head upgrades!!!

Just note that it's not only size that matters (despite what they say ;) ) but weight too. You may find you have a CoG problem if you get a pack that is too heavy.

True kgfly, but after what I saw today of the Mini-T on 4s, it flew incredible.

Stay tuned, I'll be posting up a video shortly on the main section thread for TT.

All 450 helis can be made wild with a 4s setup, my comment was more related to your question about what capacity cells. A 4s 3300 will be much too heavy, not for the power available, but to get the heli CoG correct. Even most 4s 2500 packs would be too heavy I suspect although a 4s EVOlite 2500 might be OK. Typically 4s 1800 - 2000 is what folks run as it balances. Easy enough to weigh your 3s packs, stick some quarters on one to make it weigh the same as a candidate 4s pack and then see if you can get your heli to balance. For example, you might fidn you have to move the tail servo further out along the tail. With a little bit of empirical testing you can determine which candidate packs will fit and balance and know what to buy.

Up the page I stated that a 1800.... gives about 7 - 8 minutes of sport flying. Well, I changed my motor to a NEU 1107/2Y and it's more effeicent than the Z-Power Z10A-3300 I was using. My flight times increased at least a whole minute and a half!! I think I may stick with the Flightpower 25C 4s 1800 as it's now serving me well.:YeaBaby: It has about the same weight as the Flightpower 25C 3s 2170 packs.

I run cheap heavy 4s packs now and plan on getting FP or TP light weight series packs soon. Mine weigh in at 230g. As far as CG it seems fine to me. The 50-60g of savings from some good packs would greatly increase my power to weight. I mostly sport fly... @ 2700rpm I get 10mins easy with 80% rule on 2200mAh packs.
I think the 2000-2200mAh range in the lightest packs you can find are ideal.
The 3000mAh range will be too much weigh & size.

I use a CC35 ESC & a Medusa Potencia 6v BEC

Kontronics makes a very nice ESC/BEC if you got the $$$$$

LITHIUMSTATIC: Nice setup
Is it the 1107H / 2Y or the one without the 'H' ?
What pinion do you use (11T 12T 13T?) on 4S

Happy flying

I use the 1107/2Y with a 2.3mm shaft and 10 tooth pinion. I'm getting theoreticaly close to 2,900rpm head speed.

I've been told the H series is to fat to fit in the Mini-Titan frame using a 10 tooth pinion. I've also been told it does work with a 11 or 12 tooth pinion. My suggestion would be to buy the Non H series motor as I have and use a Medusa heat-sink on it. I have one on order. OR you could get the 1107H/2Y put an 11 tooth pinion on it and cross your fingers and hope it works. If it does work I would like to know!

Same setup here... I love the CC35!!! the medusa BEC is a bit bulky but there is plenty of room on the mini titan.

For my motor I have a jgf450th....great run times for sport flying. But if you want a more balistic motor the jgf500th is good too. They are cheap and light weight. I would like a NEU but I am too cheap...lol

I think the Medusa BEC is overkill in size, weight and price for a 450-class heli. The DimensionEngineering ParkBec or SportBec are a better fit IMO. I have also been using the generic Chinese 5V/6V selectable switched-mode 3A BEC that you can get for around $10 with no problems.

Yea, I'm gonna pick up a SportBEC soon. This weekend I might pick up a 4s Air Thunder battery to try out also!!

Vic, Get a Medusa Potencia 6V BEC it's really light and works great. Not the full size one kgfly is talking about. The Medusa Potencia fits great! That's what i use.

Yea, I got one of those before, but with the SportBEC, I can switch from 6vots to 5 volts very easily. Though, I could always use a downconverter if I go to a 4.8v digital tail servo.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll see what to get. Running 6volts on the swash servo's does sound really good with using the HS-65HB's.

I have 65MG on the cyclic and a JR-DS3400G on the tail. Everything is at 6V and work flawless. Keep me posted.
