Looking at prices for this motor I came upon this comment at Heli Direct,"the motor wires are part of the internal winding and cannot be soldered.Use connectors only"Is this a product warranty issue? I cannot find any reference to this at the Kontronics website.

You can surely solder on ends without issue, even shorten those wires abit if you need to as well. Some goofy thing they have written there, not sure what that is all about but aI can assure you all is normal as you would solder with any other connector-motor etc...
i wouldnt shorten the wires what ever you do. all the wires comming out of the motor are enamell coated copper, and if you shorten then you wont be able to solder them again, unless you get ALL of the enamell coating off, which unless you have acid baths and things, you wont be able to do.
Anyway, connectors on motors are really handy, i always put them on anthing like this, makes it easy to take the motor out or reverse it.
