I'v just put together my 3rd logo 10 (first one was back in 2003), and am having this problem that I've never had on any other logo I've built.
In certain maneuvers, the tail will violently twich. I.e. if I do a stationary right flip. I've tried different tail blades, made sure the gy401 is set and installed correctly.
I feel that I should have the best logo 10 I've every put together- my first ran on nicads + Kontronik fun- this new one has a Tango 40-10 with a pretty powerful CC 85HV- but this twich is driving me nuts!
Anything to look out for? Thanks!

Are you running the CC esc in Gov or Fixed mode? Have you tried settings on it? I ask as several have reported issues with the CC esc and tail twitch. Also are the electronics placed a good distance apart so that the gyro sees no electrical interference? Is the boom grounded? Stuff like this is all important when dealing with "tail kicks", that seem unsovable. ;)

Gov of course.
I ask as several have reported issues with the CC esc and tail twitch.
I'll take it out to the field and change all the settings to see if this is the issue. Thinking about it more, I've always used Kontronik controllers, this is my first large CC controller.

If this is the case, I'd trash the heli and start over. My first two were built pretty much identical, except the CC ESC and the motor.
I'll try to find some time to reprogram the esc and get in a flight.
turn down the govenour gain, i had the same problem, turned it down and all was fixed. this was on a L500 on 611 at 32% gain in hold with 92mm SAB tails.

How do you turn down the govornor gain? Is that the Gov1 vs Gov2 setting?
Anyways, it doensn't matter since the "Slow spool up", apparently as I learned last night, does not apply to Fixed Pitch throttle setting.
I changed all the settings on my ESC last night to troubleshoot. On all my helis, I spool up by going immediately to half stick. Because I set the throttle to a non-govornor mode (as someone suggested), the blades immediately tangled up, stripped part of the main gear, and now the elevator servo gears need replacement.
Down for the count.:(

after simply replacing the very slightly bent tail shaft, my nice flying Logo 10 turned into a monster with violent tail jerks. Why???? The only, only thing that could be different was the belt tension. It did seem a little tighter than before. So I loosened it Just a little. The jerking was gone. I can only surmize that a tight belt generates more static than a loose one. I do not have my boom grounded but might give that a try. It couldn't hurt. Oh, and by the way, I was using a DX7 system. If it was static discharge it must have been traveling through the tail servo via the control rod, maybe. No other controls were affected.

I should add that the slightly bent tail shaft was due to throwing a tail blade two years previous and many flights ago. No crash.

Good tip. I will also try losening the tail belt, although I do hear it tink in the boom every once in awhile.
