G3?????

Anyone tell me why the new G3 doesnt have shadows for there helis???
I've got it check on but still no shadows.

It does shadows. You've either got some setting turned off or it's a software glitch. Have you tried setting the software back to factory defaults?

I've not done anything to change from default.. Just got it today.

I agree. Either there is a problem with your software or the shadows are turned off. The setup sets your graphics settings to what it thinks is best for you machine by default. Click Simulation>settings
This will open the settings window I forget where but somewhere in here you'll be able to change the graphics settings. I remember for shadow there are 2 options. One to turn it off and on, and 1 setting to control the overall complexity of the shadows.

And as always make sure you are running Direct X 9c and the latest drivers for your video card.

It is video card related. If you don't have enough video card, you won't get shadows,

Graphics cards that don't support pixel shaders won't show shadows. The nVidia GeForce2, GeForce 4MX and Intel 845/865 chipsets are examples.
