We at HeliProz are just as excited about the pending release of the Aurora as you are. We also know that many of you placed a $100 preorder as long as a year ago!
HeliProz would like you to know that the kits and parts have been paid for, by us, in full and are now only waiting the delivery from Avant R/C. Release is going to be soon, and that's the only answer we recieve from Avant. We know what you know from reading this forum!
We are sure this heli is going to be worth the wait and are looking forward to carrying this new model. However, if anyone is tired of waiting and has decided to move on, we understand. If you have a $100 pre-order, you are MORE than welcome to place an order and use that $100 towards some other product that we carry.
Thank you for your patience.

Wow how much interest has been earned on that money since the $100 deposits were sent in?

What if the people that made deposits want a refund of the money and does not want it in merchandise?
Not knocking the Aurora. It seems like a nice model. Just that is seems that HP had the cart way in front of the horse on the deposit deal.

I'm sure it's going to be a good machine. I remember when the talk first started about the Vibe and the Synergy and how they both took a lot of ridicule for being so late coming from the time they were first talked about. Interesting point that David brought up about the interest on the deposits people put down.

Honestly people, it wasn't HeliProz that jumped the gun on this one, it was YOU. The consumer. We got requests from so many people that we had no choice but to start a list. We do not have the money from your pre-orders hanging out accruing interest, as we have paid for a shipment of kits and parts which we do not have. As far as release date questions,...well you know who to ask.
As far as interest is concerned, if you could possibly get a 10 percent(more realistically 5%) annual return on $10,000 (the amount collected from the pre-order) you would only earn $1000. So that means that if each person were to have had their $100 invested in the same ficticious way, they would have earned $10. I assure you that HeliProz has no interest in banking your money...we WANT every one to have this heli! It looks awesome!
If someone were to demand a refund, they would have to call and speak with a manager, and I'm sure it would be handled on a case by case basis. I cannot speculate as to the outcome of a refund request.
Be assured, this heli is going to be a HOT item, and if it were me, I'd wait.

Lets see you started to work at Heliproz the first of June. But yet they were taking deposits on the Aurora for several months before you arrived. So I don't see how you can place blame on the customer for sending in a deposit that Heliproz requested for them to get on a waiting list. Even when they first started taking the deposits there was some speculation where they would take a Credit card or not. The first announcement about the deposit was send a $100 money order if I remember correctly. Any way I would think if a person that placed a deposit wanted a cash refund and not take it in merchandise, it should not be questioned why. I know a dealer that have took deposits on other helis. They have said upfront if you change your mind, just call and they would issue a full refund and open up the slot for someone else. They even contact the people that have put up a deposit and see if they still want the kit before they ship it. For an announcement to be made like you posted in the first post of this thread. I would think that there is a lot of questions being asked what happened to the deposit since the heli has not made it to market yet. And the deposits have been placed nearly a year ago. I agree the heli does look nice. Augusto and his Team had a nice display at the Jamboree last month. I talked to Augusto about a release date. He just said it was soon. I have been involved in getting a kit to market. So I have an idea what he is up against.

Are you connveying the same attitude that the owner of Heliproz has or is this just your attitude toward the deposits? If the owner has the same attitude as you then I'll continue to take my business elsewhere.

This is my opinion, I'm sorry if you don't like it. I get constant people calling asking to be placed on a list for any new product that there is a percieved stortage. If I have any say in the "next big thing" it's going to be first come first serve.
I'm not trying to be a jerk here at all, I'm just stating that MANY customers insisted on being placed on a list, the pre order $100 was a way of knowing how many people would be serious about actually buying one I assume.
Jeff, I'm not sure what attitude you're referring to. I'm sorry if you feel you need to take your business elsewhere, I did not intend to offend anyone.

wow! how much interest has been earned on HP's investment of kits PAID IN FULL. some of you people amaze me. did you stop to think about how much Heliproz has sunk into this? your $100 is about 10% of that investment.
i know some of you expect your retailer to absorb all the costs for you and shield you from the realities of business. but, sheesh, have a little empathy.

There is much more, much more then 10.000 in that project, investing so much they can get pretty good interest.

That statement was not included in the original post. It was edited in after several posts on this thread. I don't see what difference it makes that the kits are paid for in full. They are in the hobby shop business, so they have to invest some capital. In this case they got the customers to help them in that investment(purchase).

I'm at least as frustrated as most with the "soon" time line thats been given for nearly a year now but lets be realistic. The preorders sold within days to people anxious to own and fly this helicopter. I don't believe that Heli Proz or RC-Direct had any idea of the wait involved. It's silly to think that they saw this as a big investment scam to sit on 10K for 6 - whoknowshowlongitwillreallybe months. They've been getting the same information we have from the same source. If we hadn't spent the $100 on the Aurora we would have spent it on another helicopter or heli doodads.

how nice you must be working for Augusto.
How can you pay for item in full ( $1000) and parts then wait for one more year just to hear “ it will be very soon”
Any one fine with this must be working in some way for Augusto,
I don’t have a problem that heli is not out yet, it takes time and I do understand, but collecting payment in full from stores and costumers and showing box after a year is just scam.
There are many different opinions in this case that way all paid Augusto boys should be quiet until item will be for sale.

It's only $100 and it guarantees us a kit so they don't all get sold out and we have to wait on the next shipment. You guys are unbelievable....if you have enough faith in the product then it's worth the wait and the $10 lost on interest.......

This whole aurora thing is throwing everyone off. All i have to say is two words "Urban Legend" enough said ;)
working for John who runs RC-Direct, I know for a fact that he had no idea the wait was going to be this long. The hobby shops wouldn't have taken pre-orders this soon if we would have known. I do agree though. The wait has been long enough and these things do NEED to be on the market now!

I think this is the most rediculous thing i have ever heard of. I sure hope no one gets burned on this thing. I heard agusto is very well off financially but why would he request that the kits be paid for in full by the hobby shops.
Either this is a complete lie or the hobby shop owners are STUPID.
In this type of retail business you are supposed stock enough that would allow you to turn your inventory 4 times a year or it is considered a bad investment. In this case, you are supposed to close it out and take a loss if need be because money is being loss instead of money being made on sellable products.
I think that if any of these hobby shop owners or managers had any type of business mentor, they would be really disapointed in pre-paying for product with no release date.
I say its a fabricated story. Never have i heard of a company taking pre-payment for items not yet ready to ship let alone items shipping. Worst case, you get something shipped COD but mostly on 30 day terms!
I would deposit $100 for one of these kits (i actually did) but only if you can spare the money and i would assume this be the case if you are willing and able to fork out another $900 on the release.
The only thing that hurt me and many others i suppose is that i was counting on this heli to be released to enjoy it this (almost past) flying seanson. I put off buying other heli kits (90 size) in hopes of the release of the avant. I wasted 90% of the summer waiting and finally ordered and built a Synergy N-9.
I can't imagine that the avant could be that much better if at all than the Synergy kit. I really like how it flys and builds. I no longer need an avant however will take one if i ever get the call but include me in on the class action law suit to get back my $100 if it ever comes to that!

I think Heliproz is a big boy and can tell people no when they want to order something they dont have.
I honestly cant believe this is being passed on to the customers fault you have got to be kidding me.
This has to be one of the biggest ripoffs ever, also HP does not pay 1000.00 per kit either or they would not make a dime on them, and the fact that they pre-paid in full for kits not yet out is just bs.Who knows what hp spent that money on but it wasnt kits.
This kit was set to ship last november and is still not out hells bells nasa can refurbish the shuttle and have it back in outer space in less time, and all augusto had to do was a few parts changes.
Give me a break, this has scam written all over it.

I was wondering if I would possibly see one of these coming against Avant or Heliproz in the near future. People have sued for alot less and have won.

This is just another example of too much hype way too soon. Align is falling into a similar trap with the rex 500, though in that case they didn't release the details, they just kept quiet while the heli forums exploded with speculation, when they probably should have tried to keep peoples' expectations more in line with reality by at least saying something once in a while about the development. Same effect though, people getting all hyped up and then having to wait for ever to get the new toy.
That said, some of you getting all bent out of shape should cool your heels a little IMO. People in 90% of the rest of the world should have such drastic problems as having to wait a little while for a new $2000 toy... Sheesh.

Considering how long of a wait, I think I would be afraid of parts supply. I would get my money back until it is relased.
