Hi guys

after deciding to go with the nitro , can any one please let me know if it is worth spending the extra and getting to pro, or can I just upgrade to the pro latter..?

what works out batter?
does the pro fly any better than the standard and does the t-tube make much diff?
what are the benifits of Carbon F over the G10 glass fibre frames .. ?

thanks guys

The short answer is no ! Mostly bling - the fibreglass canopy is gorgeous but showroom sort of stuff - no practical difference between the G10 and CF frames anda as for the TT - unless you're a very precise competition flier you're not gonna miss the TT - I like them for the complete absence of belt tightness worry but They do tend to chip the front bevel gears on the lightest brush of the tail rotor with Mother Earth

I'm a beginner and felt the Sport was a good decision for me.
It's definately no "cheapie" compared to the Pro and it looks bad a** with the G10 frames and metal head thingies... For convinience and easy set-up the belt driven tail was a plus for me coming from Raptor's.
As for the canopy, well I like mine and don't really mind it's made of plastic....more crash resistant I guess?

The Sport is a vary nice machine, you can't go wrong with it.

I'm getting the regular version and adding the extra thick G 10 aftermarket frames and a custom painted canopy.

I wish I bought the pro (red canopy) instead of the basic sport verion two months ago. There is nothing wrong about the sport version. The pro version is a bargain deal considering the nice painted canopy, carbon frame and TT upgrade. You can buy the pro version and add a small amount of money to get the belt drive parts, plastic canopy, but not the other way. You need to add alot more money to convert a sport to pro.

So, why I want to convert to pro, the decal on the plastic canopy is a mess, it comes off after a few flight and I tried to painted clear coat to make it stick to the canopy, even worst that the clear coat is a mess now after contact the exhaust gas. The painted FG canopy comes with pro will not has this problem.

TT is nice as you don't have to adjust the belt tension. I fly during the early morning and lunch time, temperature change alot that make the belt tension changed. I have TT on my Trex600 electric and it is nice, no hassle at all.

hi guys

I did it I went and got myself the pro.. I thought that if I had gone for the basic I would of wished I had the pro, least this way I wont need to worry bout any upgrades for a while.. oh the fg canopy does look really nice, so much better than the milk jug type..

had the same prob with the stickers on my rappy, they do keep falling off..

was looking at the specrtrum Dx7 radio gear in the shop, any one know what there like, at the mo I am using T7cp .

I just bought a Nitro Pro yesterday. I too was torn between the regular and Pro version. Having a SEv2, I was never crazy about maintaining belt tension, keeping it lubed, etc. I know there have been various posts about the ruggedness of the tt, but to me, it was very appealing.

The other thing I like about the Pro was the full metal tail that came with it. I imagine full metal parts don't survive crashes in a big 600 as well as an 450 size heli, but it's gotta help. I have crashed my SEv2 HARD and never had to replace a metal part.

Finally, I found a great price on both such that the difference was only $125, not the usual $200 I've been seeing. The great thing is my lhs matched this online price so I took it home same day!

For those interested, amainhobbies.com has the regular version for $374.99 and the Pro for only $499.99.

When I bought mine I got a better deal on the Sport because the Pro was in short supply and there were no price breaks on it. I did buy the TT upgrade however. The belt is a pain to keep adjusted in my 600E and I didn't want to deal with it again. Even after buying the upgrade it was cheaper to go this route than the Pro and the G10 frames and plastic canopy are fine with me. Besides, I like neon colors on my canopies and the painted ones just don't appeal to me.

Do you guys have problems with belt tension due to climate changes or why do you adjust it?
I live in Finland and yeah, it's cold and sometimes it's colder so I have no issues at all with the belt... In fact it might be better than the TT in case a giant mosquito gets in the tailboom, might cause a mess on those TT gears :)

Aevans692: DX7's are very popular. I have one too and it's great. Easy to setup and feels reliable.
