If you guys are tired of recharging your TX batteries on a regular basis then give Rodney a shout in PM about his new batteries.
They are Li-Ion 3s2p 2000mah packs...He can make them for several radios, the most popular being the DX7 and 9303....no hassle install as they are a PERFECT fit,no force required or mods.Your looking at around 16 to 20 hours runtime between recharges.....OH HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

I would imagine this new battery would fit the DX6 also, correct? After all......they both use the same type battery and voltage.

What do these offer over the JR 2500mAh NiMh batteries (JRPB5011)?

Thanks,
John

ALOT more runtime between charges.

Sorry, I still need more info. Are you saying because it's LiIon, it holds the charge when not charging/using better, or is capable of providing more power over time? I'm only asking since I'd expect 2500 mAh to be better than 2000 in that regard.

One other question which comes to mind is what plugs does this come with? I mean, it probably has appropriate ones for the Tx, but what about for charging? What kind of a charger does it require, or can it use the one for the Tx (a DX7 in this case)?

Thanks,
John

It comes with two plugs installed...one plugs into the TX and the other is for charging....it is a 3s2p configuration and doesnt drop voltage while sitting....for charging you would need to use a li-po li-ion charger. EX:Triton,Duratrax ICE,TP1010......If you charge through the radio charge jack you will need to keep your charge rate at 1 amp or less so you dont blow the fuse in the radio...if you hook the battery directly to the charger then you can charge at 2 amps ....there are already several guys on the otheRR site that are using them and they also have nothing but good to say.
As far as why it lasts longer than your Ni-Mh,this battery has a fully charged voltage that is about 1 volt higher than the Ni-mh....when these packs are fully charged you will see a voltage on your TX of 12.6-12.7...compare that to the Ni-mh at 11.6-11.8 fully charged......the stop-fly and recharge voltage on these packs is 10.8

Hi BigVanVader,

What is the charging procedure (I have DX7)? Do I need to open the TX cover? Do I need to disconnet the batteries? Do I need to remove them?

Thanks,

Kam

2 Ways. You can charge thru the port on transmitter, but do not charge over 1 amp.
Or you can open door and pull extra charge lead right from battery and charge up to 2amps. The lower the charge rate the better. But you do not have to unplug the battery at all..

Does it hurt to leave it plugged into a charger?

There is no need to leave it on a charger, The wall charger that comes with your radio WILL NOT charge this battery. You have to have a lipo/ion compatable charger.
Once you charge the ions they store there charge for a much longer time. Charge it fly that day let it sit for a month and it will still be within 2% of the voltage you turned it off at.

Has anyone adapted their CellPro 4s to charge this battery???? If so, how?
