I'm using the Align 35amp ESC and had to solder the proper connectors to hook it up to my Z-Power Z10A motor.
You should have no problems as long as you have good connectors.

I think the stock ESC is good mine doesn't burn it is only warm. I'm using a Medusa 6V BEC so i think that the heat problem is due to the internal BEC.
I like the soft start of this ESC, very soft.
I'm running all stock with 13T pinion and Prolite V2 2100mah 20C lipos.

Hello,
today my mini Titan went up in flames in the middle of flight.
It started burning !!!
First the controls behaved strange.... I came down and about 1 meter from the ground I last control totally...everything went dead.
When it hit the ground it started smoking like a Nitro heli gone crazy
I run to it and saw flames within the canopy.. I removed it (still burning)
The ESC was totally burned up, nothing left over besides 1 capacitor.
I thought.... that's the end of my dear titan.
However, after inspection....nothing really was broken except the ESC which went to another universe. Talk about a strong little bastard.
So, as I have read before the stock ESC sucks big time and now I have the proof for myself.
I replaced the ESC with an Contronic Jazz ESC, which should be the best one can get.... and man... the Titan flies again, and much much better with this new ESC.
Pfff..... close one.

I started having serious doubts about the stock ESC when for no apparent logical reason, the speed of the stock motor went up very seriously.. Then down without me doing nothing on the Tx.. It really looked like I had radio glitches! But it wasn't logical as only the ESC channel was playing up.
After checking the signal with a scope, I couldn't see any glitches, but then the motor suddenly changed speed..
So I figured that could be really worth investing in a good ESC and motor. Which I did.
The original pair Motor and ESC are in a drawer where they can't harm nothing. I was thinking as using the pair as a desk fan.. But I'm sure other similar usage can be found.
I don't use any connector between the ESC and the motor. cable to cable as short as possible with good soldering and heat shrink tubing to isolate. Never had a problem since I placed the Phoenix CC45 in action.

You get a little spark because the capacitors on the ESC charge when you connect, you should try a 6S or larger setup if you want to see bigger sparks :)

The stock ESC is already set well. All you have to do i let to recovenize to it the min and max throttle of your radio like in manual.

What connectors did you use? I have an Kontronic Jazz and an Z10A-3000 but the connectors that came with the motor are small gold plugs, about 2mm? Can I use 4mm gold plugs for solder on the motor?

You can use any connector you like. Just make sure you do a good soldering job!!! :)

i'm wondering about my esc now...my last flight resulted in a crash...coming in to land after noticing the heli acting strangely and as i was bringing it down the motor started spiking then shut off and performed a nice nose dive into the ground.
got everything all fixed up and installed a kasama head. took it out in the driveway to set up the tail (new cnc servo mount) and while i was trying to center the tail in rate mode i could hear the motor going faster...then slower...not to mention i could see the whole heli bobbing up and down slightly and the tail moving from side to side as the motor was spiking.
i would imagine the esc is starting to take a dump on me. debating on the jazz or the jeti spin. might even look into a new motor to complete the package.

well i just got my first flight in well outside anyway man what a great little heli!! stable nice the only thing that is bothering is the temps on the motor and the batt!! i switch to the align pro woodies and it made a little difference but it is still getting pretty hot i checked the mesh on the pinon and it seems good. im going to check my belt it might be to tight i also cut the hole on the canopy bigger any other things i should check thanks

Hi,
I received a question through PM,
But some guys forget to enable to receive PM's in User CP settings ;)
So here my guess what's going on....
During installation of your electronics (ESC) on a new MiniTitan:
The ESC is preprogrammed and in most cases doesn't need to be set.
Ofcourse you can reprogram it to your liking and put in the desired settings as explained in the manual and some earlier posts.
If the ESC goes in set-up mode (six tones) every time you connect the battery and you have your Tx stick in idle position, imo you probably have to reverse the throttle channel.
First make sure your save during testing or setting up a ESC by loosening the two motormount bolts and turn the drive pinion away from the maingear (fasten it again)to prevent unwanted bladehits.
In idle position you should hear three rising beeps, which means the ESC is ready to go.
when you steer to full throttle the motor should start spinning.
If you get 6 tones and enter setup mode in idle position, imo this means that it's reversed.
Take the battery of and reverse the throttle direction in your Tx and you should get the three rising beeps at idle position as it should.
If this is not what you mean, or doesn't work, just let me know :)
Eric
