I have a little trouble with my bird
I am running the stock 890KV motor with the stock 500mm woodies Tried 1100KV motor but shortened run time too much I am no 3Der running 15t pinion and stock gears
Pitch curve in normal 47,57,65,75,100 tried for linear
Throttle curve in normal 0,45,80,90,100
I am running Align 75A esc mid timing no brake no governor mode
Batteries I am using:
A/T 2200 25C
T/P 2100 15C
DN 2150 20C
Slight increase/decrease in elevator trim to get level from the A/T batteries to the others

MY PROBLEM:

Bird will spool up slowly and with small shaking till mid throttle then lift off just around half stick or slightly greater
Then as I slowly increae my altitude to around 5 feet to hover it will then drift up slightly then drop from the sky
I need to increase the trottle to nearly 3/4 to counter act this drop
I can not get the bird to stay at one altitude for more than a second at a time the main effect is dropping to the ground
Can anyone give me some suggestions what I should be doing different or if you need more info to help me
Thanks in advance
Mark

This may be obvious but it sounds like either some kind of setting in the ESC (which I kinda doubt) or a pitch and / or throttle curve setting in the radio.

I set up my ESC with the same setting that Finless suggested in his videos and as for throttle and pitch settings I am not sure I have just basic settings as per his videos
I tore down my head to see perhaps there was some binding that I hadn't noticed on building there was a small amount in my flybar cage links but I am not sure if that was the cause will have to test
Thanks for the reply

Have you thought about using your program mixing on your tx? I bought the rays helitech ECCPM volume 7-9 and the same principles apply to pretty much all ECCPM helis. Its crazy how much it helped me. It's like a totally different heli now. Also maybe some 550 mm woodies to give it more lift and a more stable hover. I was having that problem also though. After i balanced my batteries properly it stopped. But i also did the program mixing in the same flight... so i dont know which one solved the problem.

Batteries are always balanced so that is not the issue
I will give the program mixing a shot
Thanks for the suggestion

Try governor mode. With constant RPM you can troublshoot if the problem remains. If not, your curves were not set right.

What blade pitch did you set?

As soon as im off work i can give you my TX settings (minus the atv sub-trim and all that stuff) and can give you the quick and dirty of how the pitch setup goes. You end up running a +10 -10.

PS: WHAT part of Canada are you from? Ive been to BC a couple times. Right now I'm on duty with one of our French Canadian comrades from Quebec City. Good people for sure.

I appreciate that I will check those settings in the AM
I am from Saskatchewan (near Saskatoon)
Thanks Again
