Well I smoked my main shaft bearings and want to buy something quality that lasts. I don't want the kind that are toast after one crash like ceramics. Anyone out there that can point me in the right direction or can tell me what to stay away from?

Understand that no bearing is crash proof. I have had very good luck with bearings purchased from avidrc.com and they are dirt cheap compared to everyone else. They deal mostly in car bearings, but do carry some of the sizes we use in helis. rc-bearings.com offers good quality bearings for decent prices.
You can spend 10 times more money on a bearing, but you won't get 10 times more performance or 10 times more crash survivability.

LITHIUMSTATIC:
After you get your new bearings it might help you to get the "The Greaser" and grease your bearings (if you believe in greasing). This way you will not smoke your bearings.
Just my .02 cents!!

I've been picking up replacement bearings from RC-bearings.com for my helis. They seem to be pretty good quality.

I put new Main shaft bearing from RC-bearing.com in tonight. Much smoother!! Takes longer to spool down. I'm sure TT didn't send bearing with the kit that are very good. Cutting corners making a profit.

I'll second what Brian said, get "The Greaser".
The TT bearings might not be the best money can buy, but some PM with quality grease and "The Greaser" before installing them just takes a second or two. Then, no worries, you know they are properly packed and haven't dried out sitting on a shelf or in transit.
