View Full Version : Roll Rate on Razor E

Any ideas on how to speed up my roll rate on my Razor E? It dosent roll/flip on a dime, drifts way off before completing the roll. I am using very fast Airtronic servos as well. I am using Stubz paddles with weight(maybe remove the weights?) I am thinking of trying the Vpaddles as well, it just rolls like shit atm...other then that it is rock solid stable and flies great and very very stable!
My 3dmp will roll on a dime and I guess I am use to that and the servos are way slower on it...
Thoughts?

Yank the wights and check your Tx settings to make sure everything is Kosher. Stubz are supposedly faster than the V's.

Stubz (not 105mm) is SLOW, even without weights.

I personally like the stock paddles. They are very quick. Another observation I made while flying is that when using too much aileron travel the links would touch the side of the head even though the swash was not hitting at all. I did not want to lower the travel because I was already unhappy with the roll rate. I lowered the travel to not allow hitting on the side of the head and to my suprise the roll rate was faster. I would loose the weights though for sure too.

I'd say loose the Stubz too , they aren't any better than the std MA paddles , try the Carbontec paddles if you want fast cyclics with no pitchiness , they are nice ..
If all else is good , you can increase the ail swash mix percentage too ....

Ya, I will probably try the MA paddles, although they are just kinda ugly :/.. White just sticks out like a soar thumb when I have a nicely painted custom canopy, etc... I will most likely try the stock paddles, see what to expect, if I like the response I will see what I can get from a pair for vpaddles and see if they compare better/worse. Weird how the Stubz arent known for being quick
I did increase the aileron swash mix with the stubz, it did help out, but getting in the danger zone of to much pitch where if I happen to give it to much blade pitch and paddle pitch i could get myself in trouble, will just try the stock or vpaddles to see if that improves my performance.

are you used to flying smaller helis? i was when i got my razor and thought it rolled slow but realized thats just how it was with the larger heli. i have mine set with the flybar control arms on the inner holes and the throws all the way to the point of bind with the cyclic ring active on my 14mz and +- 10 ( with 14deg acceleration for about .5 seconds) it rolls pretty fast. i was told by one of the ma team guys to be careful with too much cyclic as it can induce a boom strike when at full rear cyclic/ full negative pitch in high g manuevers

Nah, I have/had an avant, fury's etc, something is defffinetly not right, just need to figure out if it is the paddle or user(myself) error on setup.. Probably alittle of both:)
