After building my E-Raven conversion (with the motor behind the mainshaft) I was left with how to secure the batteries.
Up until this point I was using the "Helimans Friend" Ty-Raps
After doing some measuring and then some thinking and then drawing
I came up with what you see in the picture (more in my gallery)
I made a Qwick-Cad drawing and printed it out for a templet.
About an hour on the band saw and the drill press and it was done.
The mount's are designed to work with the Predator's front tray that I used to make my motor mount and radio tray (Century # HW6112A).
The latch is made from the left over body mount that came with my Raven 50. The bolt is tightened enough to keep the latch in place, but allow me to rotate it for battery changes.
The batteries are prevented from moving rearward by 3 or 4 wraps of tape on them, that makes them to large to slide thru the front mount
While I would have liked to make the mounts out of black Delrin, My wife is now looking for her new cutting board!
I have found that the cheapest cutting boards from Wal-Mart are the best source for prototyping material :D :D
I'll be happy to answer any questions
