Well, I knew that it couldn't be smooth sailing for so long without incident. My tail motor finally gave up the ghost (little or no power) and high speed piro'd the CP into the ground. Main shaft bent (of course) and a nice set of Carbons scuffed up pretty good. Craptastic.

Feeling like I'm in the mood for something different, does anyone know a good supplier for a Honeybee King II ARF. I'd love to slide my servos, gyro, and receiver into something different without a big cash outlay.

Well don't feel bad, my tail motor died yesterday and I did a piro'ing fall from 35 feet and broke the frame in half

I've really enjoyed my Blade CP and it's the benefactor of a healthy amount of upgrades. I had the setup so spot-on that it could hands off hover. It's been an awesome low maintenance machine for a while.

When my T-Rex was down and out with ESC demons, it was a fine backup helicopter. That said, since improving the T-Rex setup and rebuilding it into a V2 super freak, I just can't get motivated to start from scratch on setup with the Blade CP.

It's received plenty of labor and love. Time for something new!

why not get a small plank to put the servos and rx ?

even the stock eflite 3s lipo would do decent as a pack for a small plane

Thats what happened to me. I decided to go with the King II also. You do not have to worry about a tail motor for that. Its an awesome ship. Comparing it to my previously owned CP... I wish I saw the King II first. Would have saved me some dough. Your in PA so i would recommend you check out

There right out of Boston, MA so shipping will not be to long. Good price too. ~$150 Ready to Fly

ya i to got the king2, just got it around two days ago and man what a difference. I just switched pretty much all my cp electronics over to the king2, and that should work for you to. If thats what you plan to do, i got the barebones kit for $70 at helidirect.com and like i said i just switch all my stuff over. The only thing though if you do that your gonna need an extra servo for the tail and if you have a brushless motor on your cp and plan to switch it over it wont work sorry to say. i just put on a 430L motor and the king2 works great.

awsome heli though, i say go for it.

I had the e-flight park 370 with a 9t pinion and it was getting way to hot and wasnt giving me enough lift so i had to go in and shaved the motor ring and the frame back to get the 430L in and i have an 11T pinion on it.

And in stunt mode2 at 95% throttle i had a 2630 headspeed off of a skytach with factory wood blades.
Sorry with any confusion with the motor info before

Well, looking at the pieces where I had my current investment (1300mah LiPo, G90 Gyro, spare blades), I ordered a Honeybee King V2 ARF bare bones kit. The $70 seems cheaper than most of the modifications that I have made to the CP. Plus, some of my spares are reusable with the new helicopter. I was considering a plank, but the price point of the V2 makes for a cheap proposition to get airborne.

After ordering the bird, I realized that I do need to get a tail servo. I was thinking a DS285 -- worth half the price of the helicopter, but also ensures that I've got a ready spare if I strip one on the T-Rex.

Either way I bet thats going to be one of your favorite birds. I love mine.

Well I went back and forth on the HBKII and while a bare bones was cheaper, I ordered the freestyle belt drive mod for my CP Pro. Had lots of spare parts for the pro and no local part support for the HBKII and if the belt drive solved the tail riddle then 99.999% of my Blade problems will go away. Good luck with the new bird, everyone seems to love it and if the belt drive doesn't work for me I will be following suit.
