View Full Version : Is the current Lepton kit the original release version?

I am thinking about building a Lepton, and was wondering if the kit has been updated since the original release...which I gather was about one year ago. Does anybody know if Hirobo usually updates a kit like the Lepton, and if there is any conjecture on when that might happen. I am no hurry to purchase, so was wondering what Hirobo's new release or update cycle is.

WOW! Seems like the Lepton is not a popular kit right now. No action on this forum at all. I will consider another heli for my next project.

Well, this heli is flying so well that their is not much to say. Just fly with it, dont talk. It's the best one in the 1m range. You will miss something.

Do you know if the kit has ever been updated from the first release? There seems to be a few problems with V1, and I am wondering if they have been corrected.

What were the problems with the V1's? I just got a lepton and it flies great! I was suprise how stable it was and how well it flew. I flew it this Sunday at the field and the winds had to be at 15-20 mph. It felt like a bigger heli and barely got tosed around like my old trex did :D

As a recomendation I would suggest you go with a 5s-6s setup if you fly 3D :D

I know a stech kit has been released. But nothing about a V2. hirobo did some minor modifications quickly after the release and that's all. I'm flying mine with the linkage modification Finless proposed and i have nothing to complain. The bird is very reliable. Nothing wears. Just the batts! I think 5S is the better choice. It will give your batts a much longer life, with less heat on your batt.

From what I see at my club, great heli but WAY OVER PRICED.
