We are running Phoenix on three different notebooks and all three work just fine. The notebooks are just regular two years old notebooks, nothing special (e.g. Compaq Presario V2000, HP DV1000).
You may need to lower the Phoenix quality settings but it still looks just great.

As we speak, I am running it on a IBM T42 while on the road. I also run it on a Panasonic ToughBook.

And today I installed it on IBM X41 (tablet PC, very slow in general) and it worked just fine.
It seems so far that Phoenix is a notebook friendly simulator.

Mine too. MacBook Pro running Bootcamp. Works great.
