Well i got out and hovered the Titan on Saturday and it flew well and i was really happy for a first test flight how well it was balanced and how stable it felt.
Well today (sunday) i went out and was going to fine tune the trims and get it flying a little better and get in some stick time.
I had been doing some forward flight as i am not advanced enough for 3D yet and did some hovering and adjusting trims.I was hovering at about 40 feet and all of a sudden there was a real loud POP and i saw something come of the bird so i landed it (cleaned my shorts) and then tried to figure out what happened.
Well i found the problem.
About the last 3 inches of one Main Blade had no covering left on it!!
It had the stock wooden main blades that came with the kit on it.
Any ideas why this covering would have let go?
I had my pitch and throttle curves set as follows.(DX7 Radio)
throttle ____ pitch
0=idle _____ 0= -4 degrees
1=30% ____ 1= inh
2=50% ____ 2= 0 degrees
3=60% ____ 3= 6 degrees
4=85% ____ 4= 9 degrees
With this setup do you think i may have had to high of a headspeed for the wooden blades?
What blades would you guys recommend? I was thinking of the 600mm Radix blades.
