K&B Dream Design Tail Blades Review - These are hot!

Ok Ok..... honestly I did NOT believe it myself.
Kevin from K&B Designs was next to the "dawg pound" at IRCHA in a tent and came on a motor cycle. He started talking about his new tail blades and handed them out at IRCHA... I was totally skeptical! I mean a dude in a tent trying to tell us these tail blades which are plastic???? WTF... no way....... Give me a freakin break right?

WRONG.....

First I noticed many PRO pilots at IRCHA flying them all weekend.... I figured they were just being nice to Kevin and using the freebie's he handed out.

WRONG AGAIN....

Weeks later the guy kept buggin me to do a review and I gotta say I was still freakin sceptical....
WRONG AGAIN for a 3rd time!!!! HOLY CRAP these blades do rock!

So for the review on the 450 blades I decided I WOULD NOT DO IT and let the public do it. HF user Fireup (Kevin) is a friend of mine but like me tells it like it is. I trust him with a lot of confidence. So you know I was better than him and now he has passed me (not in auto though ;) ). He's still a "bogg out the heli stick banger" but he is better than me now. But that's not the point. I do know when he tells me something flying wise it is usually right on!

So he tried the tail blades and get this.... He wont give them back to me!!!! :(
He likes them that much. Fireup.. please chime in man and tell it like it is as you feel!

I have known Kevin along time he knows his stuff i did the same thing he kept telling me wait till Ircha you can try some i was like ok
Bolted a pair on and i have them on all my machines they work very well wiht the Logictech gyros as well i even like the 450 Blades and they very durable

I havent touched a carbon tail blade since i got these and like the flo colors iam sure kevin will have some more cool stuff coming soon....

The crazy part they are only 8 bucks best 8 bucks you will ever spend on a Heli!!

I haven't done a BIG test on the 600 blades and K&B Kevin is sending me the correct size (I had 90 sized) but I am DIEING to try them now on my 600!

Just giving you a hard time bob :) Iam in 600N video withdrawals. Doesn't it seem strange there isn't a lot of after market tail blade options for the 450 considering their popularity? What kind of flex is there in the blades ? Is it as bad as the gorilla tail blades ?

Cool this is great. I was just about to buy a set of the Hyperions CF's but what the hell i'll give these a try. Too bad they don't come in black as some people don't care for their helis to look like it was part of the Poison rock band. One more thing the "Where your dreams become reality!" slogan is right up their with "Conquer your heart".

I haven't done a BIG test on the 600 blades and K&B Kevin is sending me the correct size (I had 90 sized) but I am DIEING to try them now on my 600!

For the 600, ~95mm is right, right? I only see 59.6mm, 84mm, and 102mm, so are these available yet, or are one of these "right"?

Folks the 600 tail blade tests are not IN YET.... I cant tell you myself if they work as well as the 450 blades did. At IRCHA I saw MANY pilots continue to fly them all weekend so thats a good sign (actually probably a better indication than my tests!) but I haven't got a good test yet. I have a feeling they will be good but just don't know yet! If your looking for my opinion it will come in a week. Sorry....

Torkboy I know is a good pilot and I promise I will get his opinion on them this weekend.,...... It will be honest or I will kick his tork ;)

BUT so you know I did have a set of 102's that I did let someone use and amazing as it was he thought he would have to lower gyro gain but DID NOT! He liked them too but they were just too long to use and post as a vid about.
K&B is sending me some more proper sized blades for the 600 and I WILL share and use them at the Buzzin the Border Funfly so PLEASE see me if you want to try them and give an opinion! The more the merrier and HONEST the opinion!

MAN I love videoing public opinions... I may have to do more like this! If it sucks you will know... If it works, you will know.... I like that MUCH better than me telling you! I dont trust myself sometimes ;)

They have similar stiffness to the align stock "bat wing"... stiffer than gorilla tail blades for sure.

I know that but you must admit you were a little insistant about giving them up! You know if I really HARD asked for them back you would give them up but you also know I wouldnt do that since you did like them! No fibbing but that is the truth :) Thats the way it went down too.... Kevin didnt want to give them up and said "Hey I get to keep them since I was part of the video testing them!!!!". Bottom line HE WANTED THEM... Thats the point!

It would be nice to see these in the 90, 92, 95, 100, 105 size fashion that is for certain. :D Also for the existing line you have would be nice to see "white" and "black" ones as well for the folks out there that do not want flourescent colors such as myself, thank you.

man i really like the bright neon colors... Hopefully it will help with the orientation issues I've been having. Figure if your Canopy isnt high vis... why not the tail.
