the one guy i know with the system just lost a plane last weekend. up until that crash, he'd sworn by the system for several months. now, not so much.

We're running our new RJX Xtreme on a 9C with the 2.4 XPS and a Hurrican 50 on my 9Z with the 8 ch XPS system since two weeks before IRCHA with no problems, I'm converting my entire fleet over, waiting for the 6ch to get my T-Rex's on 2.4
Erichf who flys FAI has his competition machine converted over and there patterns are much larger that 3D and he has posted that he's had zero problems.
It was such a relief at IRCHA to just walk up to an open flight station and fly without standing in line at impound that any 2.4 system is going to be worth it's weight in gold just removing that stress factor.

That's pretty much a statistical sample of one, and so it's ill advised to draw conclusions from it. I lost several planes from radio problems while flying my 9C, so should I throw it away?
I like the way my new XPS module and receivers work. They have a nice feel in flight as well. I'll be sticking with them.

I've been using one for a few months on a jr 9303/eRex 600 and it's been rock solid so far. I also have a spektrum setup on a nitro rex and I feel very comfortable with both systems. I plan to get more receivers of both types as I convert everything over from 72 mhz.

Well there's are a couple of threads over on RCG that have clocked up almost 20,000 post on XPS, if you want some light reading
Excellent system, IMO the best of the module-based 2.4GHz offerings. Best technology, best features, proven performance and lowest prices.
I have another question.
Can I get the Tx module for my Futaba or Jr and then buy several Rx's do I have to bind each time I switch the model I'm going to fly or can you just bind with it during setup and then will it know which model I switched to without having to bind each time before I fly?

Regardless of which brand Tx-module you get they all work the same way. That is, you bind the module to the Rx. This only has to be done once or twice. The first time is to establish the binding so that you can get your model configured. The second time is sometimes required to finalise failsafe setup once you have your settings all tuned in the radio.
The plug-in modules have no knowledge about which model-memory you have selected in the Tx. So if you switch memories in the Tx you will still be able to drive the same Rx. Similarly, you can bind several Rx in diffferent aircraft to the same Tx module. So long as only one Rx is on at a time there won't be any problems.

i think you're reading too much into my statement. the question was 'does anyone have any experience with the system?'. i think i answered the question, without any bias. if someone feels compelled to judge a product from one statement, that's their prerogative. but, the assumption i make of a thread like this is that the OP intends to gather a set of data to make a decision by.
Thanks for all the help. Now I just have to wait and see if this other guy at the field who is on the same feq as me will go to 2.4hz or I will HaHa.
