Since the Neu 1910H/1Y motor seems to be a bit scarce at the moment, I was curious about other options. I know of the Tango 45-10, and had heard mention of the Z-Power motors.

Is there a website describing the different models? I can't seem to find much but a motor or two at a few vendors. Or perhaps more specifically, is there one that's "recommended" for the Logo 500?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, or I'm just being a bad googler,
John

P.S. Any comments on that Tango while I'm here? It certainly wins in the price category!

The tango 45-10 is an excellent motor, "very" efficient and will certainly run cool. You can run it with 22 tooth Mod.5 or if you select the Mod.7 gear you would than opt for a 16 tooth mod.7 pinion. That will give you a target HS of around 2250 at 85% governed. Now the NEU 1910(H)-1Y has abit more grunt than the Tango for certain, but not by leaps and bounds. Another good motor out there that is cheap is the ZPower 1110 kv motor, they are harder to come by and some have reported magnet and bearing failures. If you have line on a tango for a good price you can not go wrong. If you want the most ballsy motor however the Tango will fall abit shy of the NEU, but it is no slacker imho.

So as I sit here on the precipice of placing the order...

What besides the kit do I need to order? I have the Neu 1910/1Y/H, and would like to run the beefier gear, but does it come with the pinion(s) I need?

I'm hoping the current stock has the metal motor mount and the better gears by now. Does anyone know if that's true?

I do plan to get the standard spares - rotors, flybars, main shaft, main shaft bearings, but are there other parts that commonly break should I crash?

Thanks,
John

P.S. Holy cow that Neu 1910 is a fat motor!

No Mikado kits come with pinions you have to buy those. If you are running the 1910(H) -1Y the best pinion you could use for tourque and best efficiency is the 16T mod 0.7, this of course works with the 153T mod.7 main gear. The newest kits are supposed to have the metal mount and include the .7 gears yes. If you order through the main distribution point AeroModel you will for sure have those items. Your favoured vendor may just have the mount and gears as well, I would email your vendor of choice to confirm that they do in fact have those items in the box first, if not buy from somewhere else or get on the phone to AeroModel to have those items sent in line with kit, cheers.

Your spares list is good, the normal is all that is needed. flybar, spindle, main shaft, tr shaft etc...

One further thing:

http://www.aero-model.com/Mikado/part.aspx?id=MIK4044

Is that the right 16T pinion? What's throwing me off is the "6mm". The motor shaft is 5mm, and I can't imagine the whole gear's diameter is 6mm, so what is that referring to?

Oh my is the parts search for this baby painful! Aero-model really needs to re-vamp their webpages on this stuff.

Thanks,
John

EDIT: Nevermind. That's a straight pinion, not herring-bone. In fact, I don't find any herring-bone pinions on the Aero-model parts listings. Guess I'll just have to call.

#MIK4216 is the pinion you need.
