What Video Camera ?

I want to go out today and buy a vid camera for video shoots. My question is, should I go with :

MiniDV ? DVD-R?
3CCD? HD?
Steadyshot (or anti-shake) feature : would that make a difference when it comes to vibes?

any recommended model ?

my budget for this is gonna be about $1000

gonna be used on a Condor with MarkIV HCS mount. (yes the project is a go after tons of fighting with the authorities and customs :arggg:)
