What are your requirements for a still digital camera? Shutter speed, zoom, pixels, and other.

What would you recommend for an under 300$ camera?

I really dont know what to tell you on a sub $300 camera, I paid almost $800 for my 5 MP Minolta DiMage 7i but they are a lot less now.

I set it on manual focus with infinity and get pretty decent pictures, I still dont have anyone to fly the camera on my setup so I dont have any good examples, but maybe real soon I'll get my wife to come out with me, as soon as it warms up.

I would recommend any camera with 4mp or better..

ive been using a pentax optio mx 3.5 mp still/video camera on my setup, and have gotten some realy nice pictures with it. It's tiny, and weighs hardly anything and should work well with most of the camera mounts available, you might have to do some tinkering around to get the shuter to work on some mounts though since it sits at kind of an odd angle.

1/500th is often recommended and if setup is correct, you will get a nice clear photo. However, if your setup is squared away, you can go much slower. I have clear photos that I have provided customers down to1/100th (got to a job that was cloud covered and went to auto mode out of normal shutter priority) The trick to getting them clear at that speed, given your setup is correct, is shooting from a stable hover.
