Hi everyone.

I crashed my hurricane 550 yesterday, it was probably the fragile leverarm that broke (or my brain that shorted ) and trowed my hurry against a tree, mainblades (gf) destroyed, autoclutch, and flybar and one stripped bolt etc :( not a big crash, but still a few $

It was either getting some spareparts and fix her up (only flown 2-3times).... and i decided that it's not worth it, it is the plasticframe and a very basic model, so i just decided that scrap it and move on for now to better quality.

I really want the 6003d, but i can't find it anywhere (and i really would like it asap). But in store over here is the 500dx...... is that a good model, can it be upgraded as 3d ? and is the body the same or not as the 600 models ?
Can't see anyone have or talks about it here :(

All advice is very helpfull, please tell me all you want about it, good or bad.

I have always wanted a Mikado logo helicopter.... but my helidays started with the hurry550 (cheap, easy) then a trex 600e, and now the t600 is almost fully upgraded and flies like a dream.
Now the hurry550 was "kia" ;) and will probably put away or something, and i need something to replace it, and yes i know crash cost, but i really didnt feel it was worth fixing her up for some reason.

Yes you can get the 500 in the dx (standard) version or the 5003D with the upgrades. The 600 has the same dx or 3D options and use exactly the same frame. Its due out this week i believe, at least it better be.

Thanks Klinger !

Now after this night, when i wake up i need to know.. should i buy the 500 DX and build it now and get it to fly this weekend maybe, then buy what upgrades i need when i decide i want it.

Or should i buy a 500 3D abroad and maybe wait a week for it to arrive, and build it and enjoy it.

There is not that much difference in cost of the two, just that one of them i can have tomorrow, and the other i will have after a week in my hands..... as it always turns out for me, i will always upgrade hoop'em up after a short while, even if they need it or not

When it comes to things a really want...... let's say this, i hate to wait. But now i ask you for advice what to do cause i dont want to buy the wrong model. Im not that hard pro 3d fighter yet just so you know. Logo was my first love when i first thought about getting a heli... many years ago, now the time is here and i want to make the right choice (i know i can easy upgrade a 500 to a 600, so a 500 size will be just fine to start with as i have my trex600).

Personally I feel you should opt for the 5003D. It has abit more and the "bit more" is worth it imho. You will be thankfull you did once you get the kit and start adding up the differences. All imho, I am inmpatient to and have to get many things from other countries but the 5003D is nice :). Run it with 550s on the main and you will really like the pop.

Thanks for the advice, but i just can't wait any more :arggg: i just have to have that heli tomorrow, then next week i will order the alloy swash and stuff i feel that is needed and other things i dont need  And i will get 550 carbons for it tomorrow. Will start to use a new align 600L motor on it, and that will probably be changed soon to. I just need to get it and build it and fly it asap, i think you all know the feeling

What i know is different is... alloy swash (dx have half alloyswash or something, 50% alloy 50% "plastic"), carbon tailfin and rotorblades, and lighter paddles that's it.

there are many more bearings in the 3D version, and more importantly, it has a thrust raced tail, which is essential for high head speeds. DO NOT fly the DX any more than a sport machine with the standard raced tail, you will regret it, i did.

Do yourself a favour and wait a week for the 3D from another country!

I really hate you guys !!!

Ok, i listen to your advice and.... even if i was totally wanting to get that Logo 500 DX today and was almost on my way getting it, then i sat down and read this last post and checked over the online manual.... damn:( :bomb: i decided it was better to get the Logo 500 3D instead and wait a week :OK

I wanted the carbon, but thought i could get that later, i wanted a alloy swash, but i thought i could upgrade that later, then i got the info about these ball raced levers etc.... that was it !! i just couldnt justify getting a DX anymore, so even if i could have a 500 DX in my lap today, i will wait a few days for the 500 3D instead.

I know now after i have paid for the 500 3D etc, that i wouldnt forgive myself if i got the DX instead just to save a few days of waiting... now i will sleep better in one point of view, and i will not sleep at all thinking about my nice Logo 3D heli getting here

Thank you all for the help you gave me.. the guide to the right choice, THANKS

WOOOOOOOOW, IM HAPPPPY !!!! The Logo 500 3D arrived at my door just now 12:20, fedex seams to take about the same time as ups, thought it would go faster... but never mind that now, all is good :happyd:thumbup::happyd:banana:drool: :thumbsup2: :)

I have my T600 at the bench for a checkover and motorchange etc, so the timing is good... i just need to finilize the checkup on my T600 then it's time for the new Logo 500 3D, ohhh i just cant wait, itching all over to get started :)

But one thing is really fu*ked up, i need to drive my girlfriend to the petstore, she is going to deliver to them some hamsterkid's, and then we are going.. my brother also, going to our parents to give them a flatscreen each that we have had for a little while, it will be a suprice, so i hope they will be happy. And at the same time my brother is going to some store to get new cables etc...... damn, i cant dig into this package until later tonight... i would guess around 21:00 or later :arggg:

I will maybe post some pictures if that's ok, as i know it's not the newest kit but i think it's still maybe of interrest for some. Would like to make a build video, but i really dont know if i got the time  What i have heard is that it's a easy build, so probably a buildvideo is not needed, and i would prefer the grand master Bob White to do it if it's going to be done right.

Even if i got the T600, this is really my first helikit ever. My T600 was built by the store i got it from, and i had to really check it over and redo some things to make it perfect, even if the store i got it from was experienced and are involved in real helis to... i guess they just didnt have the time, as they said to me when i bought it. Anyways, this will be my first from scratch build, even if it's going to be easy it's going to be way fun and a happy time for me, as i like just as much to build things as to use them :)

Thanks WillJames. I got it from Revolutionmodels, Dave is great and fast with the delivery, good email response to

I got home very late last night, so i didnt get started with the build.. i just open the package and looked at it before i went to bed.

All i can say so far is that all seams good, but i was expecting more cf stuff... don't know why, but i just thought there was corbon on the fin etc. Nevermind that now, but i noticed that the canopy was VERY soft plastic, that was a big downside :( very soft plastic, and i thought that canopy would be like the T600 or atleast thicker plastic, but i think i can overcome this as the rest looks very nice

OK, the $500 question. Did you get the alu motor mount and 0.7 mod main gear with the kit?

Automan
09-22-2007, 09:37 AM
No, the alloy motormount was not in the kit.
I have contacted Mikado reps on this board about it before i got the kit, cause i know it wasnt going to be in the kit, as Mikado said free alloy motorplate to every 500 3D, but i havent got any reply from him yet :(
Here is the thread: http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=45352

Feels like they are just :kisspeople in the US, and don't even reply to folks buying this kit over here, and if that is true (sure feels like it's true) then im VERY dissapointed on Mikado. I still hope they get me one asap or sooner, cause they have made a promise to people buying this heli, and they should keep their word and solve this NOW.
As i said, i pm Ralf and did not get any reply at all, and others who post in his thread seams to be ignored to.

Ralf "RB-heli" at mikado, it's better that you answer us and solve our problems to, instead of not to and let us believe that you ignore our problems over here. I sure hope Mikado is better then this.

I think Mikado will also help us over here as they do to the US, so im looking forward to a pm or reply here to explain where we can get our free upgrades.

Dont get me wrong, im VERY happy that Mikado takes so good care of those who buy their helis, making sure they get of to a very good start etc. And the quality seams very good in their kit's. All i don't like is that they seam not to respond to us over here, but i really hope that im wrong and that they solve it quick even for us, if they do i couldnt be more happy

About the 0.7 maingear mod, please explain what that is.... It's just the size of the wheel right ? mod 0.5 has 213t, and the mod0.7 has 155t. I only got one maingear anyways, think it is the 213..... i got the 0.5t pinion so i hope i have the 0.5, don't know what's better with the mod 0.7 other then putting less stress on the pinion... but i think you have to use a pretty low rpm motor on the 0.7 mod.
