Hi all, hope you can help.

I have a new FP 6S 4900mha battery. First charge, it took the full charge putting back about 4000mha. I am only at the hovering stage (TRex 600) and fly for 6 minutes. After the first flight, I put back under 4000mha, but after the 2nd flight, it's only taking around 1400mha. I thought I didn't run enough out of it, and took it to the field thinking it was fully charged. I fly for only 2 minutes before I noticed that the heli lacking power. I landed straight away and headed home. I put it on the charger, and again, it only took around 1400mha. I don't really want to fly again until I know whats going on.

Any suggestions?

I'm using he E-station BC6 charger.

Thanks

i have a BC6 charger too.
some times when charging a 6S it has timed out. ( but the battery is almost charged fully any way)

Cell volt after flying is about 3.7 volts. around 22.2 volts for the pack
After chargeing 4.2 volts per cell 25.2 volts for the pack

You could try the fast charge option, or the non balanced charge.
You could try to dischagre it. then charge it.

What are the cell voltages? the BC6 shows them.

I don't know what the problem is, but hope this helps.

I think Brent is right. The BC6 is limited to 50W output. That means max charge current for a 6s battery is around 2000mA. That means it will take 2 to 4 hours to charge a 5000mA battery. The BC6 has both a total charge threshold and a total charge time threshold. These are intended to protect a battery from overcharging in the case where the voltage threshold is not reached for some reason. If using the BC6 to charge a 6s 4900,Ah battery you need to set the total charge threshold to around 5000mAh and the charge time threshold to perhaps 180 minutes.

Although an excellent charger, teally the BC6 is too low powered for T600 packs and you should consider getting a new charger of at least 150W output power. If you are on a very tight budget consider the FMAdirect BalancePro 6s or maybe and Astro109+VBalancer. Otherwise there are several good choices including:

eStation BC8
TP1010+210V
eStation 902+PB6
Hyperion 1210i+LBA10

Thanks for all the great info guys. I think I may have sorted it out. I was charging a 1500mA 2S FP and set the safety cut-off for that.........

I made the changes for the 6S 4900mA, and it took the full charge. All seems well. I'll see what sort of flight time I will get out of it tomorrow.

Cheers again
