Is there any difference between the 7-channel FASST 2.4Ghz module transmitter and the 8-channel other than the obvious one channel more? Is their plans for lesser channel receivers 3, 4 and 6 channel for these unites? Are the FUTL7630 3-receiver compatible with the 7 & 8 channel transmitters? Also the FUTL7635 6-channel work with the 7 & 8 channel transmitter module? Would like to use lower channel count receivers in some of the foams I have.
It sure seen that Futaba is way behind the curve on this technology compared to the other manufacturers? Is there any chance they will catch up any time soon?

From what I understand Futaba have been working on 2.4 Ghz well before they actually released their handsets as a lot of their research is military based (RC is actually quite a small part of their business). From my experience racing 1/8 Nitro buggies the FASST system is more repected than the Spektrum system with lower latency and less glitching.
I cant say for sure but I dont see why a 7/8 channel FASST transmitter shouldnt be compatible with for example the 6 channel receiver (incidentally a lot cheaper and smaller than the 3 channel Spektrum receiver in the UK) that comes with the 6EX 2.4 Ghz. To be honest a quick e-mail to Futaba or call to a decent heli shop should confirm that pretty quickly.

I could be wrong but I have heard that to get 2048 rez out of FASST and the 12/14 radio you must runt he 14 channel 2.4 RX. The smaller RX's are 1024?
I have easked this question a few times and never really got a "official" answer but this is what I have heard.
