Ok, I have a charger set up for Aligns, so I bought a FP to Align connector made by Common Sense. Just based on the color scheme, it looks like this polarity would be reversed. Do I just need to flip the connectors and do a 180*. ?

I think you should cause the connector on the other end of the adapter is reversed, and sure looks like the polarity will be, thats wierd... maybe common sense isn't so sensible after all

Common Sense also sells reversers for the Align/Eflite/DN/Common Sense leads.
Or you can pull the pins and swap them around, being VERY carefull to avoid pins from touching each other. I would rather have a spare connector and swap the pins from one connector to the other to avoid any touching.

I am just going to pull the pins in the adapter and switch them, battery not attached , of course. It's an easy fix, but just wondering, if someone bought this and plugged it right in, could spell disaster. I just figured out why. It says on the package, TP2CS-3 Adapter Cord. ............... to charge with COMMON SENSE RC Balancing Charger. So, possibly their charge cord reverses the polarity.

I have just converted my lead today, if you look at the align type connector and the adaptor connector for FP they are black on one side and red froom FP to the align connector, I took out one after the other and stick it into the align connector.
I have charged the FP 2170 3 times now and all is well.

I just reversed the Align end pins in exact reverse order, works fine.
