View Full Version : Kid hovers first time, now I'm in trouble

My 13 year old son Mike got to try out his new Hawk yesterday. Of course no-one thought to bring a buddy cord, so He flew with verbal commands from the 'Old Man'.
He was nervous at first, but once he saw it wasn't squirrely, he got it out of ground effect, and settled down. 1 1/2 tanks of fuel without dorking it, although he let it wander all over the place it was within 50 feet of where He started.
Thanks to Nick and Lil Z for showing him kids can do it, it has motivated him to bring his grades up so He can fly..
Mom and I think it's worth it!
Weather permitting, pics from todays flying will follow.

thats great, I wish I would have learned how to fly at that age.Once you learn, it can never be taken away..Keep up those grades so you can fly! Happy flying..

Weather sucked, great for ducks, maybe get pics next weekend..
Once Will gets him re-registered, He'll be here.

Thank you for the comments Lamebird. I really apreciate it!! Thats great that your son is flying. I hope to fly with him soon and to see some pics of him flying. Were you at Clint's B'Day party????

Yes, on Saturday we were parked near the wings.
We talked to You briefly, but there were a lot of people around then.
