I cannnot figure out how to remove the piston or the cylinder from a Thunder Tiger PRO-39H engine. If someone could give me some instruction on how to take either one out.

Remove the head.

Slide the sleeve upwards and out.

The rod should slide on the wrist pin and crank pin towards the back of the motor. This should give you enough wiggle room to remove the piston and rod.

If the parts arent indexed mark them with a sharpie so you know how to put them back in the proper orientation. (ie mark the front of the sleeve and the front of the piston and rod)

for the TT engines I generally use a Hammer.. a BFH type, 10-20 pounds, 3 ft handle..

Is there some sort of adhesive that holds the cylinder to the housing or should it just slide out with ease? This one just does not want to come out.

Actually, I was kidding. If you are determined to rebuild this engine, remove the carb and backplate, as well as the head. Place in a 350 degree oven for 3-4 minutes to heat the aluminum (it expands and frees the steel cylinder).
Once the block is heated, you can use your hand and a rag/towel to remove the liner by gripping it from the inside.
