Steady roll out of new and improved bits - new plastic fan - thicker, stiffer and with magnets, smaller servo template (could adapt this for on-off switch!) frames braces in G10 and CF - mast has a darker line marking ? different temper?

FWIW, my kit came with the black lock collar in it and I purchased the kit in June.
I've also seen a new main gear case/one-way shaft combo. http://www.align.com.tw/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22_72_89&products_id=1894. It says "New design of one-way bearing for preventing locking." I'm not sure if there is really anything different here other than it being a combo set. The actual part number of the bearing doesn't seem to have changed (HF1216) and the case and shaft look the same too.
Still a cheaper way to get both items together I guess.

I wonder if the new main shafts might be a little thicker walled?

The new black collar is REQUIRED if you use the new metal main bearing blocks. The old collar is too low and fouls in the metal upper bearing block.

My collar that came with my nitro is black as well. I just bought and installed the metal bearing grips with no issues.

I have never seen a 600N come with anything but the black collars.

I have one of each, Black and Silver collars.

Now that you mention it, I also have one of each. Not long after I got the kit in June (with the black collar), I ordered a spare set of main shafts. I just took a look at the package and there's a silver collar in there.
If the black is really better overall I'd like to continue using it. I did scratch it up a bit trying unsucsessfully to remove a bit of slop I noticed when doing other work on the bird the other day (I have a thread going on this) but I believe the damage to be only cosmetic.
I would imagine these don't need replacing much unless you lose or seriously damage one (or have the silver and need the black for the new bearing blocks). I replaced a few shafts on my 450 and have a collection of collars in my parts bin but only one fresh shaft.
I don't suppose there's any way to get a new black collar without also getting two main shafts?

The newer collars have a longer bottom shoulder on them. There are also some black "short" collars out there. I saw this at buzzin the border last weekend and the "short" collars apparently interfere with the metal bearing block holders.

According to Align USA This number H60154 is for the electric with the Black collar
and this number HN6068 is for the nitro which does not come with the black collar and also the bearing blocks are longer on the nitro.
